Sailing

Our sailing program is a mainstay of the club, offering members of all levels and ages the opportunity to sail on our beautiful lake. The program starts in July 18 and runs through August 17, with lessons and racing for beginners and experienced sailors.

Services and Amenities:

        • Fleet inclusive of 4 Sunfish, 3 Lasers, 1 Force Five, and 6 420’s
        • Sailing lessons for guests of all ages and skill levels
        • Sailing Races and Regatta
        • Annual Overnight Sailing excursion

We host races for sailors of all levels every Saturday at 10am. Points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.  The sailor with the most accrued points by the end of the season will be awarded the coveted Natty Bumppo Cup. Our annual Kingfisher Classic race.

The highlight of the sailing program is the August 11th Sailing Overnight for dedicated junior sailors which includes a long sail up Lake Otsego including a cookout, s’mores, campfire, night of ghost stories and breakfast the following day.

Lessons

Our sailing instructor, Blake Guzy, will provide sailing lessons to all levels of enthusiasts, from the novice who is just getting started to the sailor in need of a refresher. In addition to normal lessons we also offer private lessons that let you customize your learning experience on your choice of boat.

Weekly Lessons: M-F 11-1pm

Races for all sailors: Saturdays 10am (Weather Permitting)
